After the recent release of his second album, Northbound, Lehto now presents his Fysen EP, a rich and immersive sonic experience exploring faster tempos, crafted with the vibrant energy of the club in mind. Each track is a testament to his deep understanding of the ebb and flow of musical narratives, where rhythm, melody, and emotion resonate seamlessly, unfolding with an almost magnetic allure.
Brisk is a fast-moving composition, driven forward by upbeat drums, hypnotic haunted voices, and varied rhythmic synth work that dances above a foundation of warm bass. The breakdown and outro add a touch of drama to the arrangement, with an evocative melody unfolding in a textured ambient soundscape.
Fysen begins with an uplifting synth that provides a compelling lead into the drop, where futuristic garage drums skip swiftly alongside vocal chops and a syncopated bassline, later joined by immersive pads and an enigmatic counter melody.
Sumi features intricately programmed high-energy drums enhanced with textural flourishes, evocative chord progressions, and an ever-evolving arrangement highlighted by precisely sequenced synth work. A lo-fi piano melody eases gently into an extended cinematic ambient piano breakdown that invokes an atmosphere of introspection and melancholy.
Kos opens with a classic house organ sound, soon joined by flowing vocals that glide over big basslines, fast and precise drums, and bubbling arpeggiated synths that swirl around the senses.
